Common Questions

Asked
Often.
Answered Plainly.

  1. Do I need branding before we start?

No. Light visual direction — typography, colour palette, art direction — is woven into the web design process. You don't need a full brand identity first. The site becomes your visual foundation.

  2. Can you work with my existing brand?

Yes — that's the default. If you have brand guidelines, a logo, or existing visual assets, we design around and with them. I'll make what you have work harder, not over it.

  3. What does a project cost?

It depends on scope. A focused web design and build project typically starts from £3,500. I scope clearly upfront and work to a fixed price wherever possible — no open-ended retainers or surprise invoices. The best way to get a number is to have a conversation about what you need.

  4. Do you handle hosting?

Yes — I host it for you. From £240/year for a brochure or marketing site, covering fast hosting, SSL, daily backups, and uptime monitoring. Ecommerce and custom-build sites sit on a dedicated tier with payment and integration monitoring — quoted when we scope the project. The site is yours either way: if you ever want to move it, I hand over the code and help with the migration.

  5. How long does a project take?

Most projects run 6–12 weeks from kickoff to launch, depending on scope and how quickly content and feedback comes together. I'll give you a clear timeline when we scope the project.

  6. I don't have much content or case studies yet. Does that matter?

Not much. We scope around what exists and plan for what’s coming. A focused site with a few strong pieces of work is better than a delayed launch waiting to have everything perfect.
